Caring for Pearl jewellery

Pearls are organic gemstones, which are easily corroded by acids or other chemicals. To clean, use a soft cotton cloth to wipe away sweat and stains after wearing.

As pearls contain a certain amount of water, they should be placed in a cool place to avoid damage.

Do not clean your pearls with water. Water can enter the small hole of the bead, which is not only difficult to wipe dry, but also may ferment inside.

In order to keep the lustre and colour of pearl from damage, please avoid:

Sweating while wearing pearls
Contacting pearls with acids, alkalis and cosmetics, such as perfume, soap, hair spray, shower gel, nail polish and skin care products.
Wearing pearl jewellery when swimming or bathing. It is recommended to wear your favourite pearl jewellery after make-up.
Pearl jewellery should also avoid contact with coloured liquid to avoid being dyed with colours.
Direct exposure to the sun or in a too dry place to avoid dehydration and yellowing of pearls.
Sealing your pearls in plastic bags. They should be taken out and worn every few months to let them breathe.

Caring for Emerald jewellery

Emeralds are very durable, however they are not as hard as diamonds, rubies and sapphires, therefore so you will want to keep them stored separately in your jewellery box.

The best way to clean emerald jewellery is with warm soapy water or a warm soapy cloth.

Ensure that you avoid:

Soaking emeralds in soapy water and solvents such as alcohol, acetone, or paint thinner.
Using harsh detergents that might dilute or remove oils from the stone.
Exposing your emeralds to hot lights, excessive solar radiation, or other sources of heat as they may dry out fracture fillings

To guarantee the longevity and lasting beauty of your ruby, you will need to know how to care for it.

The best way to clean ruby jewellery is with warm soapy water or a warm soapy cloth. It’s recommended to have your ruby jewellery checked every 6-12 months depending on how often you wear it.

Subjecting your jewellery to sudden extreme temperature changes.

Caring for Sapphire jewellery

Natural, untreated sapphires are hard and durable. Sapphires are not prone to chipping, cracking or breaking. Because of the hardness of sapphires, please take care that they do not scratch softer gemstones in your jewellery box.

The best way to clean your sapphire jewellery is with warm soapy water and a soft brush.
